Irina Luminesk is the female protagonist of the series. She is a vampire girl from Anival village in Lilitto, who has a strong will to go to the moon and aims to become a cosmonaut.
Appearance[]
Irina is a young-looking female vampire with long blue hair and front bangs turning white. Due to being apart of the vampire race, she also has pale skin, pointy ears, and glowing red eyes. She is mostly seen wearing her military uniform but can also been seen wearing a white tank top shirt.
Personality[]
Irina is treated by people as a "cursed race" and hates humans. She initially had a small fear of extreme heights, but overcame it thanks to Lev’s training, making her appreciate him more. She is also has a tsundere-like nature, refusing a hug from Lev and getting embarrassed when she saw him look at her while skydiving with her. She is still traumatized by the murder of her parents and village by humans, and gets shocked to the core when seeing a test dog killed and others act like it didn’t matter. She won’t stand by and be insulted by others and will confront them with snide remarks regardless of status, such as calling a superior officer who had garlic around his neck as a coward. However, over time, she starts to show more of a gentle and caring side of her (mostly because of Lev) as when Lev and Anya treat her as a person rather than an object or test subject.

Lev Leps[]
He is her instructor for the space launch. At first, their relationship was rather rough. She only saw him as another human who thinks of her as a object or experiment. However, as time goes on and Irina realizes that Lev treats her as a person rather than an object, she slowly starts to warm up to him. Lev would try to bring Irina to places after training where they could have a little bit of fun such as to a bar and ice skating. However, she sometimes shows a tsundere side to her: often acting cold towards him but also showing signs of affection. In the anime, it is hinted that both Lev and Irina have feelings for each other as seen by when they both blush at each other. This was also shown when Irina was suffering from anemia and Lev offered up his blood to her but Irina was hesitant (followed by blushing) which could mean that drinking another person's blood might have a more deeper meaning. In the later Light novels their relationship continues to develop to the point of marriage.

- She only drank blood once, before the series, as part of a tradition and it was from a goat.
